About the Program
The choral program at Clarke offers students the opportunity to experience the unique form of learning, cooperation, and fulfillment that comes with singing in a vocal ensemble. Students sing a varied repertoire of music, from madrigals to pop medleys, while exploring the meaning and context behind the compositions and their texts. Students also spend considerable time developing vocal technique and awareness, as well as music literacy (reading, decoding, and understanding music notation). The skills of a successful musician directly parallel those of a successful citizen. Our goal is to provide students with these skills, as well as to instill an independent desire and ability to seek out and enjoy this art form for the rest of their lives.
Our program comprises the 6th Grade Mixed Choir, 7th/8th Grade Mixed Choir, and the 8th Grade Treble Choir. For more information on each ensemble, please visit their respective pages.
